My attachment to the viola is a passion. Its illustrious history and its unique harmonic presence fascinate me; its warm and veiled timbre appeases me and its sensual form reassures me. Sometimes before even drawing the bow across the strings, I pause; spending a long while just looking at it, hearing it softly murmur enchanted words: Brescia, Amati, viola…These emotions, full of wise poetry, became my four songs of exile.
